World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading
Upgrades can boost the value of certain numeric stats on weapons, armor and rings. They also boost extra bonuses like PvE damage and crit chance.
If the template for upgrading a weapon is in %, the weapon will be able to gain 3percent of its previous damage for every time it's upgraded.
The cost of upgrading an item is determined by the item's level. The cost increases with item's level.
Components
Upgrade components are items that can be slotted into weapons, armor, and trinkets to give an extra stat boost or impact while they're being used. These can be obtained through crafting, buying from vendors, trading or looting. Some upgrades also have specific cosmetic effects.
Upgrade components can be placed in equipment with a slot for them. The item must have been at least upgraded to the blue level in order for the component to be applied. Upgrade components, unlike other modifications, can only be applied only once. They are not able to be replaced or applied several times. Infusions and enrichments are a kind of upgrade component that can be used to upgrade non-amulet legendary and ascended equipment, as well in some items that aren't ascended. Enrichments and Infusions can be obtained by salvaging equipment that is ascended or completing a mission in the Prophecies, Factions, and Nightfall campaigns.
An upgrade may have a prefix or suffix, modifying the name of the equipment with the upgrade (for instancefor example 'Canthan Armor Insignia' becomes Canthan Armor of Minor Vigor). Glyphs
Glyphs can be used to upgrade the Paragon Board by placing them in sockets that are specifically designed for. When an individual player upgrade the equipment they have the original item is replaced by a new item. The same armor will receive the form of a weapon or shield when upgraded. The new item also comes with its own set of bonuses. This could be a disadvantage, as the item can be more expensive even if you don't require it.
The upgrades to items can be rerolled, provided that the player has enough tokens to do this. The item will be replaced by a brand new one that has a base of level 1 and completely different bonuses. This can be useful but it shouldn't be done often as it could waste resources.
Some upgrades can be rerolled multiple times, increasing their value and giving players the ability to alter their gear. Dolphin's Gift is a good example, as it gives an increase in power if the player is repeatedly in or leaves the water. This item can be upgraded many times and increases the maximum roll every time by 10 increments. This item can be extremely valuable in PvP as an item that is properly rolled it can be worth between 20 and 50 times its non-upp'd value.
Requirements
The upgrader for items allows players to raise the level of their equipment (armor, weapons trinkets, and weapons) above ilvl385 by presenting the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades to armor set pieces also increase the defense base of that piece, while upgrading weapon equipment will increase the damage base and required strength and dexterity to meet the upgraded equipment's requirements.
All items can be upgraded a maximum of five times, with the exception of hero gear, which can have eight upgrades. Each time you upgrade an object it has a chance of failing. The probability of failure increases as you go over the maximum number. Failures can result in the item returning to its initial state and the player having to spend additional items than if they stopped upgrading after the maximum number.
If an item does not upgrade the amount of experience in its growth bar is reset to zero. In addition the item will lose any bonuses it gained such as crit chance, attack damage, as well as all additional effects associated with the effect (for instance, an increase in heal over time or speed of reload). However, the player may continue to use the weapon or armor following the failure.
When an item is upgraded, the upgrades are applied from lowest to the highest. The amount of resources needed to upgrade an item is determined by its rarity rating and upgrade slot count. Hero grade items will have the lowest cost for each additional upgrade.
Premium items could have different upgrade requirements than regular gear. For example they might require fewer sowels, but more minerals and orons. The player will still need to bring every piece of gear they want to upgrade to the NPC [Armor] Boboko located in Central Flarine. In addition to the upgrade cost mentioned above, each upgrade requires a different amount of the upgrade ingredients.
